Alexander is 26 years old, lives in Norrköping, Sweden, and represents the Nordic Social Democratic Youth Association (FNSU) in the UNR presidium. In his everyday life, Alexander is a student at Linköping University, where he is studying to become a teacher in history and social studies.
”UNR is entering an exciting phase in the coming year. We are likely to become an independent organization, while we will continue working to strengthen our voice in the Nordic Council. The Nordic region needs a strong youth movement that pushes for joint solutions to our common problems. I look forward to working towards that together with the incoming presidium,” says Alexander Winge regarding his candidacy.
Winge has been part of the presidium for 2024. In the presidium, he has been involved in the working group preparing the new organization as well as the group working on UNR’s finances. In the Nordic Council, he has been part of the Welfare Committee.
Alexander’s political engagement began in 2012 when he joined SSU and the Social Democrats. Since then, he has held several positions, including chairman of SSU Norrköping and board member of the Social Democrats in Östergötland. Between 2020 and 2024, Winge was the district chairman for SSU in Östergötland.
Winge also holds several municipal political assignments in Norrköping municipality. Since 2018, he has been a member of the municipal council, and since 2022, the second vice chairman of the Competence Supply Committee, as well as an alternate on the municipal board.
UNR will elect a new president at its annual session on October 25-27 in Reykjavik.
