The Nordic Youth Council’s session will be held virtually

Due to the impact of the COVID-19-virus, this years session will be held virtually. The Nordic Youth Council (UNR) was planning to hold its annual session from Friday the 23rd of October until Sunday the 25th in Reykjavik, Iceland. Because local health authorities and police advise against organising any bigger event on Iceland this fall, the UNR presidium has now decided to cancel the physical session in Reykjavik.

“We need a functioning Nordic co-operation more than ever right now. We have therefore decided to organize an online session this year. The Nordic affinity is as strong over a distance as in person, and I am looking forward to meeting our members soon again.” says Nicholas Kujala, president of the Nordic Youth Council.

A replacing digital session will be arranged on October 24, 2020 at 11.00-16.00 (CEST, Scandinavian time) over Zoom. The topics on the agenda will be limited to not debating and deciding on resolutions but will e.g. include electing the UNR presidium for 2021, determining the budget for 2021 and updating the UNR vedtäkter (statutes).

One representative from each UNR member organization and one representative from organizations with observer status are invited to participate in the UNR session. No extra representatives are accepted to the digital session. UNR will not charge any participation fee for registration to the digital session. The registration is open 24.8-9.10.2020. Representatives who have already registered will not have to register again. The registration link and further information can also be found on the UNR webpage.

If anything is unclear in the invitation, session information or in the registration form, please contact the secretariat (unr@pohjola-norden.fi) well in advance of the registration period to get the help you need.
